The Houseboat Life!
awesome experience! its walking distance to all the great places in town. next door to up the creek, which is a great restaurant. and all the marine life that can be seen right off the porch. thanks!

Amazing Spot!
The boat was in a great location--within walking distance of just about anyplace in Apalachicola. Sitting out on the screen porch gave us terrific views of birds and dolphins--even a big gator swam by. However, accommodations are really adequate for just three adults, and there were four of us. The second bedroom held a twin bed and a trundle and there was barely enough room to maneuver. It would be fine for kids, but a little tight for the well-over 60 crowd. The kitchen and living room were large and airy with huge picture windows and clerestories where we could watch laughing gulls sitting on the posts. Just remember--it's a boat, not a condo!

Would stay here again!
Karen met us upon arrival and showed us the amenities of the property. Our granddaughter and husband and infant son stayed with us there; there was room for everyone. We especially loved the fact that we could walk to the downtown area with the shops and restaurants. We could just park the car and walk. Yes, the bedrooms were small but perfectly manageable. Sharing the shower presented no problems. Boats going by close to the deck gave us a gentle rocking motion during the day. We would definitely stay there again if the opportunity presents itself.

Cozy and convenient
It was very difficult to leave this houseboat (floating condo) after a week in Apalachicola. It was very cozy, comfortable, and convenient to all the great restaurants, coffee shops, stores, and more in the Market Street area. The only time we needed a car was to explore the surrounding areas of Port St. Joe, St. George Island, Carabelle (all within about a 30 minute drive.) Watching the sun rise from the deck above the screened in porch is unforgettable.

Perfect Couples Retreat
We needed a relaxing break from our crazy lives and the General Lee was perfect. We arrived in town earlier than expected so I reached out to Karen to see if we could check in a couple of hours ahead of schedule. She graciously said yes, met us at the boat and showed us everything we needed to know about. She also lives on the property so she's very convenient if problems arise. It was so relaxing sitting out by the water, waving at boats as they go by. great for beautiful sunrises and we saw a pair of dolphins heading up river one morning. Its easy to walk into town to browse the shops or eat at some wonderful restaurants. Easy quick drive over the bridges to St George if beach combing is your thing. We were so pleased and hope to return again very soon.
