Houseboat in Apalachicola!

We loved this place. There was a lot of room and a kitchen that had all the necessary equipment. Not that we cooked! We spent a LOT of time on the deck and in the screened porch when it rained. Comfortable, quiet, and cozy. We enjoyed the pelicans and other birds flying by.

Fantastic place to stay. The experience is unique and the accommodations are comfortable

Appalachicola is a historical and incredible piece of Florida history. The houseboat experience was more than we thought it would be. Watching the boats come and go is so relaxing. Karen is a great host. This a must for anyone who wants to experience old Florida.

Wonderful Relaxing Stay!

We had a wonderful time over the 4th of July weekend. Our Hostess was great and a fantastic communicator. Apalach is a quaint and sleepy town with some great restaurants and excellent beach opportunities just a short drive away. We enjoyed everything that the area had to offer and the houseboat itself was wonderful and well equipped. Many fish were caught off of the dock and the quiet evenings were exactly what we needed to unwind and relax. The fireworks for the 4th were right off the back of the boat and we had the best seat in town. We look forward to visiting again.

The 3 C's: Clean, Comfortable & Convenient

What a unique and wonderful retreat on the water! Apaplachicola is a fun little town to explore and this is a great location to use as home base. I immediately felt at home in this "floating cabin." The owner, Karen, has created a welcoming experience, from the nicely equipped kitchen to the high-quality linens and towels. You can enjoy the water views from a deck or screened porch, and even fish, if you want! If you choose not to, good seafood is available right next door. I can't wait to return!

Love this houseboat & Apalachicola!

This was our 2nd stay on the Reelaxation and it was just as wonderful as the first. Our 14 year-old loves the houseboat especially fishing off the back. There is nothing better than waking up on the water and watching the boats and wildlife. Karen welcomes you and is nearby if needed. The rental is clean and well-stocked. I definitely recommend staying here. The area is wonderful & Captain Jimmy will pick you up from the back deck for fishing.

Incredible for 3 straight years!

We have stayed at the Reelaxation for three years in a row now, and love it more each year! Air conditioning worked BEAUTIFULLY and was really key, as most days were in the 90's. Great to be able to launch our kayaks right from the house- and Karen even had one that our son was able to borrow while he was with us! First evening we were treated to dolphins and manatees swimming by. Beautiful osprey nest across the bay in the old lookout tower- remember to bring your binoculars! Caught red fish and trout daily and cooked them in the wonderfully appointed kitchen. Truly a dream vacation!

A Perfect Weekend Getaway!

We spent a long weekend on the Reelaxation in April and can't wait to return!! The houseboat was so clean and comfortable and included all of the essentials. Upon our arrival, Karen took the time to give us a tour of our floating vacation home and some recommendations on where to eat or enjoy a drink. She was spot-on with everything - the steamed shrimp from 13 Mile Seafood was fantastic, the Bowery Station was a perfect place to hang out with the locals and enjoy a beer and some live music, and breakfast at Caroline's was excellent. One of our favorite things was just sitting on the back porch and enjoying the river - beautiful sunrises in the mornings, listening to the frogs in the evenings...so reelaxing!!

Reelaxing

The houseboat was so comfortable, roomy and clean. We love to visit Apalach and everything is within walking distance to the houseboat. At night it was really enjoyable hanging out on the back deck, watching the moon and stars. During the day you could walk on the back deck and fish. The screened in back porch was enjoyable as well. We had our coffee in the mornings and watched the shrimp boats come by. What a beautiful place!! Thank you Karen for a wonderful stay!

Met our every expectation!

Reelaxation has a fisher-person lodge motif which is very suitable for this houseboat on the water. The various decorative objects on the walls are tasteful and two of them (one in the living area an one in the bathroom) are really quite artful and interesting. The kitchen is well equipped and we were able to save a few bucks cooling fresh fish purchased from the fish monger just a block down the road. You'll love it!

Appalachicola, Fl

A quite little town in the Southewest area of Florida with a laid back lifestyle and great seafood. The houseboat was wonderful and relaxing. Plenty of room for 2 people. It was great to sit on the porch and watch the boats go by. We went for R & R and that's exaclty what we got. We will definity visit again.

A unique vacation rental!

Staying on a houseboat to experience Apalachicola is a truly unique experience. The boat has everything you need and the location on the water can't be beat. We caught at least thirty fish off the back deck - so fun! The restaurants and shops are all within walking distance - we loved the Owl City Taproom & The Oyster City Brewery is great! We would definitely come back again - thanks!

Exceeded our great expectations!

We had really been looking forward to three weeks away on the river in Apalachicola, and our stay on Reelaxation did not disappoint us! The river changes subtly with the tides and not so subtly with the wind, and the skies were ever-changing. The screened porch and sunny deck are perfect for reading, watching the birds and boats, and just relaxing. Fresh shrimp is available a couple of blocks away to cook-in for dinner; great seafood is available at the restaurant next door. Apalachicola has much to explore and wonderful restaurants, many within an easy walk from the houseboat. We enjoyed the Maritime Museum and their 3-hour boat tour of the Apalachicola River and its wildlife. We explored nearby St. George Island's beautiful beach and state park; St. Joseph Island and Port St. Joe with more beautiful beaches; St. Vincent's Wildlife Reserve (we took the shuttle to get there); and several other parks and beaches. We had a wonderful lazy three weeks! The houseboat had everything we needed plus cool breezes through the windows by our comfortable bed or air-conditioning when we needed it. Karen was easily accessible in the few instances we needed something from her. We would return in a minute and plan to! We very very highly recommend it.
