We highly recommend it!!!
We had an extended stay on the Rebel's Rest and it was amazing! My husband & I snuggled into the houseboat and loved it!! The owner of the boat is phenomenal in so many ways. My husband wanted to fish and she recommended a local guide who was fun and knew where to catch fish! I love photography and took many fun photos of a variety of boats passing by. I had to learn to take time to wave as the boat captain and crew are very friendly! We walked to local pubs, restaurants, museums, shopping, the local pier wherever we wanted to go in Apalachicola. We hugged the owner as we said goodbye. It was not easy to leave and I know we'll remain friend. We highly recommend the wonderful experience of a night or an extended stay on one of the houseboats at River Watch!!! If it's on your Bucket List or you just want something different then a hotel stay here!!!

Serene Escape
My husband and I needed a peaceful escape and our little houseboat delivered 100 percent. We cooked fresh shrimp and clams in our room. 13 mile market is a treasure. Get the grouper collars to broil. Combination of sun and gentle rocking of the boat gave us both our best sleep in months. Our host was responsive and very kind. She brought over a baking sheet and aluminum foil and provided two adorable masks. My only regret was packing to come home.

Perfect respite!
My husband and I recently stayed in this beautiful home. It was a perfect slice of paradise - even in December - to get away from the craziness of day-to-day. All of the shops and restaurants were within a short walking distance, the sunrises were breathtaking every morning, the house was the perfect size for just the two of us, and there were even dolphins right outside the back patio! We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, gorgeous getaway.

We LOVED this place!
My husband and I spent four days and loved it! Karen is very nice and does an amazing job taking care of everything. The location was perfect! You can walk to everything in town and when on the houseboat, you have the most amazing view of the river and marshes. I would definitely recommend Rebels Rest!

A unique experience on a houseboat , very relaxing and scenic.
Neat, clean, and tidy, plenty of room for 2 people on a small houseboat, with all amenities of a condo, air conditioning, fully equipped kitchen , wifi, DISH TV, and kayaks available to slip right off into the water. Dolphins may swim right by while sipping coffee on the porch. I am so glad we chose to stay here , and the proprietor was wonderful, available for whatever was needed.

60th Birthday Celebration Success!!
I stayed at the Rebel Rest for my 60th Birthday, wanting to do something different for such a milestone. It was more of a staycation since I am an Apalachicola resident, but it was fabulous, nonetheless. Waking up to a view of the Apalachicola River, a body of water I see daily, was totally incredible because I got to see it from the deck of a houseboat, quite a different perspective being so up close to passing shrimp boats, yachts and kayaks. The Rebel Rest is beautiful and I was able to relax and completely enjoy my stay. I so enjoyed my weekend and look forward to doing it again one day.

Adorable and comfortable houseboat perfect for two!
This trip was a spontaneous getaway for myself and my hubby - mostly because he's always mad at me for working OT! We had never been to Apalachicola and I wanted to stay somewhere special on the water. My hubby is a huge fisherman and I figured he could fish off the porch. The houseboat was delightful - big enough for two, two TVs with all the Dish channels: BUT we didn't turn the TV on ONCE during our stay! TV just doesn't hold a candle to the view from the porch!!!! When we weren't out walking thru town we wee sitting on the porch admiring the view! The houseboat has a full kitchen (no dishwasher) and a fully stocked kitchen with all the appliances and utensils you need to cook - but with the restaurant 50 feet away with ANOTHER stunning view and all the great restaurants in Apalachicola we didn't cook at all! The bathroom is full sized with fluffy soft towels. The bed is a Queen and while the bedroom is tight the bed is comfy and all you do there is sleep anyway. My hubby took a chartered fishing trip from BackCountry Charters and Captain Jimmy picked him off from our porch - I didn't have to drive him to a Marina AND he caught a TON of fish! Papa Joe's cooked his catch at a very reasonable price and it was delicious! Cafe Con Leche is just two blocks from the houseboat and they make the fancy (or plain) coffee of your choice AND have delicious sandwiches and pastries - we went there every day at least once! I bought some pearl jewelry for my friends back home at the Shop - right next to the Apalachicola Sponge Company - great prices for natural, uncultured Apalachicola oyster pearls! Hit Downtown Books and Purl as well for a relaxing book (Even though I TRIED to read at the houseboat all I did was look at the view....) and a nice selection of yarn. There's plenty to do Apalachicola but the streets roll up at 2100 so if you're a night owl this place is probably not in your time zone! Have dinner at The Owl at least once for an upscale treat in casual dress! And STAY IN A HOUSEBOAT - You will NOT regret it!!!!
